1. Signing MOU With JICA
TPWWC and JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) cooperation
Regarding the plans of Japan Government for providing technical cooperation and other forms of aid in promoting economic and social development in developing countries, a memorandum of understanding was signed between ministry of Energy and JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) in 2003 to conduct a study on water supply systems resistant to earthquakes in Tehran. Other objective of the study was to pursue technology transfer to TPWWC personnel. To achieve this objective a three week training course was held in Japan with the finance of Japanese government for some TPWWC experts.
The scope of the work for the study covered a basic study and a study on earthquake counter measures.
2. Cooperation between TPWWC and German Water Partnership
To enhance the level of cooperation between Tehran Province Water and Wastewater Company and German Water Partnership, a memorandum of understanding was signed in the fields of research and development, execution of water and wastewater projects and financial facilities.
According to this MOU, a research and development project will be performed on water consumption patterns and efficiency of water saving measures in Iranian Households with the aims of analysis household water consumption patterns, identification of the potential for saving water and developing innovative methods of measurement.
